Traditional, well-known and easy games like Domino can provide a great basis for Game-based learning. While you can create your own tiles by hand or with a word processing software, there are many free online domino generators available and you can create a complete set in a few minutes. You can print the PDF-file and cut the tiles. You could also reuse an old Domino set and glue your specially made ones on the tiles, or lamitate the tiles for more stability. The example presented here is perfect as a simple vocabulary retention activity. The dominoes have Christmas-related vocabulary items and matching images (on other tiles). Players can only continue to place their domino when they know the correct term for an image. This principle can be adapted to many different topics and areas. |
