Experimentation in science

Experimentations are activities in a science classroom where students individually or in groups work through guided or structured questions for observing, comparing and conducting scientific inquiry. Materials and scientific objects that the students work with are provided by the teacher like lab materials, simulation environments, experiment instructions to lead the experimental or discovery learning approach. During the experiments, students observe and collect data and attempt to rethink common misconceptions that could not be mitigate through the typical information transmission approach. Scientific experiments differ from scientific demonstrations in a sense are experiments that involve students to action by collecting data where in demonstrations students may be asked to make predictions or raise opinions and negotiate understandings with fellow students. Classroom experiments may involve discovering existing scientific concepts, formulating questions, collecting data, analysing data and formulating data from evidence.
