Reflective learning (also reflective thinking or reflective practice) "derives from our experiences and can be constantly updated through the process of recording and thinking about the experiences we have. A very important aspect of reflective learning is that it is a process in which we can learn about ourselves" (University of Kent). "Being a reflective learner allows you to step back from what you are learning and develop your critical thinking skills by analysing your experience and improving on your future performance" (Deakin University). Teachers can encourage students to engage in reflective learning by posing critical questions. |
